Eemshaven/Papenburg – On 28 November 2006 Meyer Werft delivered the 93,500-gt cruise ship “Norwegian Pearl” to the cruise company Norwegian Cruise Line (Miami, USA) in the Dutch port of Eemshaven.
The “Norwegian Pearl” is the third ship out of a series of four the Papenburg shipyard is building for Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL).
One month before Luhe-Silencer delivered already the Engine Exhaust Silencers with combined Spark Arrestors for totally 100.000 hp concentrated power for the fourth ship of that series. |

The newest entrant to the German research fleet the Ice-Edge-Capable-Research-Vessel `MARIA S. MERIAN`.
Within January 2006, the ship shall be placed into service.
Conceptual designed as a multi disciplinary research vessel the MARIA S. MERIAN is the latest unit of this kind. On the design great importance were attached to versatility.
The diesel-electric propulsion consists of four (4) generator sets with MAN-diesel engines and an additional emergency generator set. In order to meet so far unknown requirements to a vibration free, low noise and hydro acoustical quite vessel the concentrated engine power was provided with a novel, three-part silencer and spark arrestor installation. Right from the design of planning stage a concept for this purpose was developed and later on manufactured by L-S in close cooperation with the Shipyard. |

Also the brand AIDA will be silenced by LS.
The first club ship for the German cruise operator AIDA Cruises already is under construction at Meyer Werft. She will be the first ship in a series of three to be built for the most successful cruise operator in Germany. The ships will have a length overall of 252 metres, a breadth of 32.2 metres and a tonnage of 68,500 gt. 2,030 passengers can be accommodated in 1,015 cabins. The other two newbuildings will follow suit in the spring of 2008 and in the spring of 2009. As to the interior design and engineering, they will create new standards. Four large diesel engines made by MaK will generate a total power of 50,000 hp silenced by LS CFIK Series Silencer / Spark Arrestors. |

Norwegian Jewel delivered by Papenburger, Meyer Werft. The biggest ever built Passenger Ship in Germany and up to date world wide biggest Panmax-Ship. With its 25,6 knots compared with others the ship is extremely fast.

First time LUHE-SILENCER constructed a Silencer/Spark Arrester as a kit for installation on board a Cruise Liner while in full operation. The Silencer with an outside diameter of 2,300 mm and a total length of nearly 9,000 mm is prefabricated in single parts and build up in the exhaust stack. In order that, first time it would be managed to renew a Silencer in this size without disturbance of ship‘s service. |

SEA CLOUD II, like no other ship, she combines the timeless elegance of windjammer of past with the highest safety standards and the luxurious comfort of modern cruise ships, traditional handcraft together with the most modern technology.
Sailing romantics will be fascinated while on board, where the 29,600 sqm. feet of sails is set by hand – just as on her legendary sister ship, but there was one drop of bitterness the very noisy Diesel Generator Sets! After, several companies experimented with this problem; last autumn LUHE-STAHL Technical Noise Control received the order to solve the problem. After extensive examinations a tailor made Silencer System were designed and constructed. On a yard stay on the Canary Islands in November the Silencers could be installed. Meantime the SEA CLOUD II is sailing to Caribic Sea in original sailing romantics.
